There was a pleasant surprise for all guests at the Pra di Plana residential home in Aviano.
The Montereale Valcellina Polyphonic Choir wanted to delight the elderly residents of the care home with a performance, so on Sunday 4th December they were able to appreciate the virtuosity of a group that for thirty years has held the local choral traditions high.
Over time, the Choir has passionately developed various repertoires, including sacred and secular Renaissance polyphony, baroque, romantic and late a cappella romantic, in addition to traditional folklore and lately also drawing from the theatre tradition, a field that brought them to be part of numerous shows in collaboration with the directors Luigi Tordello and Massimo Somaglino.
Their choice of repertoire here was obviously selected based on the audience, so traditional songs were alternated with famous theatre arias, to delight the elderly and their relatives who were in attendance.
And, for the grand finale, a huge buffet for everybody to enjoy.
